Suspended Chairman of the New
Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko, says he is unsure if he will vote for the party’s Presidential aspirant, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2016 polls. According to him, events that led
to his ousting as chairman of the
Party were unconstitutional hence did not warrant him campaigning for the NPP Flag bearer In an interview with
Accra based UTV, the Paul Afoko said, he will not risk his life for the leader who spearheaded his removal. “It will be very difficult to join Nana Addo’s campaign. Under no circumstances will I do that. I will never risk my life to campaign for a leader who spearheaded my unconstitutional suspension in a party legally and constitutionally voted for me” Paul Afoko was suspended in October 2015 after the party’s disciplinary committee upheld a letter
from the National Council of Elders of the party requesting that Mr. Afoko be suspended until after the 2016 election.
He has since made several utterances against the party and recently stated that there are factions in the party and
he belongs to the Kufour faction.
